OIL PEAK:  (forecast)

Oil production was flat from North and Northwest Africa up to 2003 but has risen since, before dipping briefly in 2009 due to OPEC restriction. Overall output is expected to recover but then remain flat for the next decade, but dropping off towards the end of this period.

Gas production will increase primarily from offshore Egypt and Libya and from onshore Algeria and Libya.

Growing gas production is leading to mounting consumption in countries all across North Africa. However growth in oil consumption has almost ceased with declines expected within a decade.

Exports of gas, largely to Europe, are rising. Oil exports, although substantial, will peak in around 2013/2014 before falling due to supply constraints.

This is a simple forecast - detailed forecasts including offshore and onshore, deep water splits, sedimentary basins and major fields and drilling etc. can be purchased for most countries.
