OIL PEAK:  (forecast)

Rapid growth in oil output from offshore Africa has begun, mainly from the deep waters off West Africa with output due to peak in 2013/2014.

On and offshore gas production is also increasing as new markets are identified out of North Africa, as LNG plants are planned in West Africa, and as flaring is phased out.

Oil consumption is growing due to the availability of low-priced gasoline in the developing exporters but consumption will begin to decline within a decade. Gas consumption is also increasing rapidly as more indigenous gas is produced and marketed.

Oil exports will grow through to 2013 before dropping as production growth stalls, whilst mounting volumes of gas will be moved by long distance pipeline and as LNG to Europe from North Africa and as LNG from West Africa.
