The
Americas comprises three regions – North America (including the USA and
Canada), Central America, which includes Mexico, and
South America. Central and South America make up Latin America.
There are
seventeen
countries that produce or have produced oil, condensate, natural gas
liquids and/or natural gas at recorded and measurable levels.
The USA is
by far the most significant, although Venezuela, (as a major exporter and
a member of OPEC), Mexico, Canada, Brazil and Ecuador (which rejoined OPEC
in 2008) are all important producers.
