In Cambodia exploration has proceeded since the
country achieved some sort of stability and there may be production
realised in the future in its offshore region bordering Thailand.
 ChevronTexaco has discovered oil in four exploration
wells (Pisnuka, Sovann Phum, Sirey Sambat and Pimean Akas) drilled in
2004 in Block A overlying the Khmer Basin. The area was awarded in 2002
and has water depths averaging 73 metres. Production is forecast after
2010.
